Our mission

The mission of the Centre d’aide aux personnes atteintes de l’hépatite C is :

  • To provide support to people living with hepatitis C and their caregivers.
  • To promote global health in the community, through prevention and the acquisition of knowledge concerning the hepatitis C virus and other related diseases (HIV co-infection) and without discrimination.
  • Design and implement information, awareness and education programs.

Our history

Founded in 2003 by its current director, CAPAHC has become over the years a reference in the field of hepatitis C and sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBI).

In its beginning, the organization offered an information line and support groups for people living with the hepatitis C virus.

Since 2003, CAPAHC has continued to offer these services and expanded its activities. Today, the organization offers a crisis line for people living with hepatitis C. The organization also publishes scientific brochures that are distributed across Canada, organizes workshops for federal prison inmates and training for their staff, and provides interventions in Quebec halfway houses.
